MAMAZ Collective is a group of women artists who arose from the questioning and reflection of what is happening with their nutritional base, maize. For our culture, the maize is sacred. However, the native seed of our indigenous towns is on the verge of its extinction due to the lack of support of the government, the loss of the tradition of sowing in our communities, immigration, water shortage, the climatic changes that we are living, and the economic interests of the transnational companies.
